Error Message "No email program associated with it for performing requested action
I get the following error message when I tried to click on a link on someone's website. The links is "Contack Chris." I clicked on the link on that page several months ago with no problems. I have since upgraded to Windows
2007. Any ideas?
"THERE IS NO EMAIL PROGRAM ASSOCIATED WITH IT FOR PERFORMING
THE REQUESTED ACTION. PLEASE INSTALL AN EMAIL PROGRAM OR, IF ONE IS ALREADY INSTALLED,
CREATE AN ASSOCIATION IN THE DEAFAULT PROGRAMS CONTROL PANEL."

Windows 7 does not include an email client, so you must choose one and install it.
Microsoft offers Windows Live Mail as a free download:
http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mail
The are other clients as well, such as Outlook (not free) and Thunderbird.
You clicked on a link to an email address. To use the link you need an email client properly configured to use your ISP's mail server.

Hi,
If you already have an email program installed, this issue also can be caused due to the incorrect default email program settings. You may perform the
following steps to troubleshoot this issue.
1.
Click
Start and Default
Programs.
2.
Select
Set your default
programs.
3.
Select the email program you installed, click
Set this program as default and click
OK.
4.

Set program access and computer defaults.
5.
Expend
Custom options, choose a default e-mail program and click OK.
